There are many ways in which you and your property can benefit from having your windows tinted, whether it is the windows of your home, your business or your vehicle which have been tinted. While it is typically a job for the professionals, window tinting can be carried out by the home or vehicle owner too; although care should be given to making sure that any relevant laws regarding it are fully understood prior to carrying out the work.

The temperature of the interior of a vehicle can effectively be reduced by approximately 60%, making a huge difference to the comfortableness of its passengers. Window tinting can also improve privacy by blocking the view of those outside the vehicle, preventing them from seeing what or who is inside. Aesthetically tinting film is also a budget friendly way of making a vehicle look more appealing.


Every window on a vehicle can be tinted, except for the front windshield which will usually only have the top couple of inches tinted. Most vehicles can have their windows tinted either at the time of manufacture, purchase or as an after sales option. Tinting comes in varying degrees of transparencies and colors, and includes non-reflective, hybrid, titanium, full metal or stainless steel. The complete window can be tinted in one piece or the tint can consist of numerous pieces. It is also possible to purchase kits for those do-it-yourself enthusiasts.

The Many Advantages

The advantages of window tint in our numerous, and include UV rays being blocked by up to 99%, glare from snow, oncoming headlights and the sun being reduced, and probably the most important of all of the advantages - protecting the vehicles occupants in instances of accidents. As mentioned earlier there are some states which carry specific laws regarding window tinting, and these should be researched prior to any modifications being made to the vehicle. Failure to comply with any laws or legal guidelines carries the risk of fines or tickets.
